SST tubes are unacceptable. Draw blood in a red-top tube (no gel). An early morning specimen is preferred. Plasma collected in an EDTA (lavender-top), EDTA (royal blue-top), Sodium heparin (dark green-top), or Lithium heparin (dark green-top) tubes are also acceptable.
