Samples from patients previously tested for GFSPP within the last 14 days will need approval from the Microbiology Laboratory Directors; Samples other than EDTA blood; Improperly stored samples; Unlabeled or improperly labeled samples; Samples exceeding storage requirements; Leaking or compromised samples (e.g. broken tube)

Specimens should not be centrifuged before testing. Complete a UCSD CALM Microbiology requisition to send with sample room temp same day (preferred). Write in test Global Fever Special Pathogens Panel (GFSPP). Send with TForce route courier Monday-Friday or call for a pick-up same day specimen is packaged including on weekends.
