Processing Instructions

1. Spin CSF (note: it may be necessary to transfer CSF to a tube to spin if necessary) in a pre-cooled centrifuge (located in the research lab) at 4 C, 3000 x g for 10 minutes. May need to adjust settings on research refrigerated centrifuge. Please return to original settings when finished. 2. Transfer supernatant to a new , labeled tube leaving behind approximately 0.2 mL and making sure not to disturb pellet. Freeze supernatant at -20 or -80 until ready to ship. Store the 0.2 mL (pellet) left behind in the referral testing processing rack and write pellet on tube. Complete a CHLA LBSeq4Kids requisition, clinical indication and physician signature is required. Ship sample frozen preferred same day or next business day Monday-Thursday only, no Fridays, weekends or holidays.
