Collection Instructions

1. Ensue the child's anal area is clean before going to bed. 2. Do the test first thing in the morning immediately after the child wakes (before a bowel movement and before washing). 3. Wash and dry hands well. Remove from the plastic bag. 4. Remove cap in which is inserted an optically clear polysterene paddle with one side coated with a non-toxic mildly adhesive material this side is marked "sticky side". or peel protective fil from the adhesive area-DO NOT TOUCH THE ADHESIVE AREA. 5. Gently press the adhesive area several times on skin around the ana area. 6. Place the paddle in the container or fold the test devise until you hear a click, to seal and protect the sample. 4. Label specimen with patient and collection information. 5. Store sample in refrigerated until sample is delivered. 5. Deliver to lab as soon as possible.

Comments

Pinworm eggs are only sporadically deposited around the anus by the female pinworm; therefore, multiple samples taken over a few days is recommended to rule out infection.
