Collection Instructions

Collect 1 mL random whole blood EDTA (lavender-top), sodium or lithium heparin (dark green-top), or fluoride oxalate (gray-top) tube and immediately mix with 1 mL pre-chilled, ice cold 7% or 8% Perchloric Acid. Let mixture stand for 10 minutes. Immediately place collected specimen on ice and deliver to lab.
