Collection Instructions

Plasma collected in an EDTA (lavender-top) tube or Serum collected in a (red-top)/gold serum separator tube (SST) is also acceptable if approved by the ordering provider. Provider preferred sample type for test is whole blood. For preferred sample type as whole blood, collect Monday-Thursday 0800-1300 only, no weekends or holidays. Plasma or serum have a longer stability and can be stored until sample can be shipped (if approved by ordering provider).
