Collection Instructions

Collect material in sterile container, syringe, or E-swab. Aspirate deepest portion of lesion or drainage (pus) into a syringe or sterile container and submit to lab within 30 minutes of collection. If a delay in transport is anticipated, collect specimen in E-swab and submit to lab within 48 hours.

Rejection Criteria

Significant delay in transport, Formalin preservative, Viral transport media, dried material.
