Orientation: Report to the Emergency Care Center 30-45 minutes prior to the first day of your rotation. It is important to have your paperwork ready and that you get your badge, parking sticker and proximity card before your first day at Rady Children’s.
Computer Access Code: If you haven’t done so already, please complete your GME registration about 2 weeks prior to your rotation start date. GME office information can be found here: Graduate Medical Education | Rady Children’s Health
Rotation Badge and Proximity Card:
- All personnel are required to wear a Rady Children’s ID badge when at the Hospital.
- You will be issued a proximity card to access the Emergency Care Center doors.
- You will obtain your badge from your coordinator, only after submitting all GME forms. You will also need a proximity card to access the parking structure and Hospital doors. You will be given your proximity card on your first day.
Epic Training: You will be sent a log-in and password for Chexweb to complete the EPIC software online training. This training is required to start your rotation.
Tools: Please arrive with all of your tools, including stethoscope, reflex hammer, insufflator and black ink pen.
ECC House Staff Manual: A manual has been created to provide you with the information needed to begin working in the ECC. It is required reading prior to the first day of your rotation.
Conferences: There is an X-Ray conference scheduled on the first Wednesday of each month and an ED Education Lecture conference scheduled on the second Wednesday of each month.
Working Schedule: Your schedule is available on Qgenda. You will be emailed individually once your schedule is published and ready. The email will also include further details on viewing your schedule, callouts, charting and more.
