Caroline Eskander, Psy.D., is a pediatric psychologist specializing in the treatment of children and adolescents with gastrointestinal conditions and co-occurring mental health concerns.
Dr. Eskander earned her doctorate in clinical psychology from Loma Linda University, completed her internship at Rady Children’s Hospital, and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at CHOC Children’s Hospital of Orange County. She joined the Gastroenterology Department at Rady Children’s Hospital in September 2025.
Drawing on the brain–gut connection, Dr. Eskander provides evidence-based interventions including cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness, and relaxation strategies to support patients with conditions such as inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), bowel incontinence concerns, and Disorders of the Gut–Brain Interaction (DGBIs). Her practice focuses on improving symptom management, coping skills, and overall quality of life by addressing the interplay between gastrointestinal symptoms and psychological well-being.
