Dr. David Mills is a Physician and Director of Global Health in the Division of Emergency Medicine at Rady Children's Hospital—San Diego. Dr. Mills is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Departments of Pediatrics and Emergency Medicine and is the Director of Pediatric Global Emergency Medicine in the Division of Global Emergency Medicine at UC San Diego School of Medicine. Additionally, Dr. Mills is the co-Director of the Children in Crisis Program at the Boston Children’s Global Health Program and the Harvard Humanitarian Initiative. Dr. Mills holds an Instructor role at the François-Xavier Bagnoud Center for Health and Human Rights at Harvard University.
Dr. Mills completed his Pediatrics residency at the University of Minnesota with a focus in Global Pediatrics, followed by fellowships in Pediatric Emergency Medicine and Global Health at Boston Children’s Hospital. He also holds a Master of Public Health in Global Health from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. Dr. Mills’ research, education, and academic interests focus on the care of children in humanitarian contexts, global emergency care systems strengthening, and the intersections of health and human rights for populations in conflict-affected regions.
