Dr. Katayoon Shayan is an associate pathologist at Rady Children's Hospital-San Diego and a clinical professor at UC San Diego.
Dr. Shayan obtained her medical degree at Tehran University of Medical Sciences in Tehran, Iran. She completed a residency in pathology, including one year of a surgical pathology fellowship, at State University of New York Health Science Center at Syracuse and a year-long pediatric pathology fellowship at The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Canada.
Dr. Shayan is board certified in both anomic pathology and clinical pathology with a subspecialty in pediatric pathology. Her interest is in renal pathology and soft tissue tumors.
