Lori Wan, M.D.

Bio

Dr. Lori Wan is a board-certified internal medicine doctor and pediatrician. She provides primary care for adults, including preventive care and diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic diseases.

Dr. Wan chose to become a primary care physician and pediatrician because she desires to bring the best care to her patients and their family members, from newborn to geriatric years. In addition to seeing patients at UC San Diego Health, she cares for children at Rady Children's Hospital San Diego.

Comprehensive primary and preventive care, especially in women's health, is an essential component of Dr. Wan's practice. She believes in compassionate care during times of illness but also during years of good health when disease can be prevented.

As a professor in the Department of Medicine, Dr. Wan is involved in training medical students and residents at UC San Diego School of Medicine. She also serves as director of the Combined Medicine/Pediatrics Residency Program. Dr. Wan feels that being involved in clinical academics is rewarding and challenging and allows her to be aware of the latest clinical advancements that can benefit her patients.

Dr. Wan completed her fellowship training at UC San Diego VA Medical Center and her residency training at UC San Diego School of Medicine. She earned her medical degree at UC San Diego School of Medicine. She is board certified in internal medicine and pediatrics.

Serving her community, she works with patients of all ages in San Diego's underserved population.
