Dr. Marcela Vargas Trujillo is a pediatric endocrinologist at Rady Children's Hospital-San Diego and an assistant professor in the Division of Pediatric Endocrinology at UC San Diego School of Medicine.
Dr. Vargas's medical education began at the Universidad de Antioquia in Colombia. She then completed a pediatric residency at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, followed by a fellowship in pediatric endocrinology at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC. She joined the faculty at UC San Diego in 2015.
Dr. Vargas provides clinical care for children with all types of pediatric endocrine conditions. During her fellowship training she performed research focused on puberty and the menstrual cycle. Her other areas of interest include adrenal and growth disorders.
Additionally, Dr. Vargas mentors and teaches medical students, residents and fellows at UC San Diego School of Medicine.
