Rachel M. Marano, M.D.

Bio

Dr. Rachel Marano is a pediatric hospitalist at Rady Children’s Hospital-San Diego in the Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine and an Assistant Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at UC San Diego School of Medicine. She specializes in the care of hospitalized children and adolescents. She attended medical school at Brown University. She completed her internship, residency and chief residency at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.

She has a passion for providing comprehensive and compassionate care to hospitalized patients and for mentoring the next generation of pediatricians. She has particular interests in medical education, informatics, medical technology and innovation. Her prior research has focused on identifying pediatric sepsis in hospitalized patients. She has also been involved in projects utilizing data from a large, multicenter electronic health record database to better understand COVID in pediatrics.
