Dr. Shelby Leuin is a pediatric otolaryngologist at Rady Children's Hospital-San Diego and is a Professor of Otolaryngology at the UC San Diego School of Medicine. She is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
She is passionate about leadership and is currently the chief of staff at Rady Children's Hospital. She has previously served as Otolaryngology Section Chief and as the Chair of the Department of Surgery.
Dr. Leuin earned her medical degree at the UC San Francisco School of Medicine and completed her residency training at the Harvard Otolaryngology Residency Program, followed by a fellowship at The Children's Hospital at the University of Colorado.
Dr. Leuin's clinical interests focus on mid-facial abnormalities, including congenital and acquired nasal deformities, nasal dermoids, cleft and craniofacial anomalies, and pediatric airway abnormalities. Her current research includes examining the impact of septoplasty and functional septorhinoplasty on quality of life in the pediatric population.
She is actively involved in the education of ENT trainees and is the program director of the Pediatric Otolaryngology Fellowship.
Dr. Leuin was born and raised in Southern California. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two young sons.
