Dr. Shelby Leuin is a pediatric otolaryngologist at Rady Children's Hospital-San Diego and an associate clinical professor of surgery at UC San Diego School of Medicine.
After earning her medical degree at the UC San Francisco, Dr. Leuin completed her residency training at the Harvard Otolaryngology Residency Program and her fellowship at the Children's Hospital at the University of Colorado.
Dr. Leuin's clinical interests focus on mid-facial abnormalities, including congenital and acquired nasal deformities, cleft and craniofacial anomalies, and pediatric airway abnormalities. She adds a unique skill set to the Otolaryngology Division with her training in septorhinoplasty, cleft palate repair and surgery for velopharyngeal insufficiency. She is a member of the American Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association and the Rady Children's Hospital Cleft Palate Team as well as co-director of the Speech Endoscopy Clinic. Also, she is a member of the Quality Improvement Committee, CME Steering Committee, Joint Quality/Joint Credentialing Committee, Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, American Society of Pediatric Otolaryngology, and the Society of Ear, Nose and Throat Advances in Children.
Education is an important aspect of Dr. Leuin's practice. She is the director of the Pediatric Otolaryngology Fellowship Program and an active member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology. She also serves as the Vice-Chair of the Department of Surgery and the Pediatric Otolaryngology Section Chief.
Dr. Leuin was born and raised in Southern California. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two young sons. She also enjoys photography and is an avid reader.
