Collection Instructions

Position any labels toward the back of the syringe barrel near the plunger so, the label does not block the syringe from entering the system and cause it to fall off. De-bubble the sample, remove any room air, cap the sample device immediately after you collect the sample to avoid room air contamination and mix the sample thoroughly. Place on ice and deliver to lab to be analyzed as soon as possible to minimize oxygen consumption.

Any mislabeled or unlabeled specimens; Clotted specimens; Specimens not on ice received 30 minutes post draw; Specimens with large bubbles or foamy specimens; Insufficient samples; Specimens improperly collected due to incorrect anticoagulant used
