Rady Children’s laces up its sneakers for the American Heart Association Heart & Stroke Walk

When San Diego comes together to support heart health, Rady Children’s Hospital San Diego leads the way.

As a presenting sponsor of the American Heart Association’s San Diego Heart & Stroke Walk, the Hospital is taking meaningful steps toward preventing heart disease and stroke. The event at Balboa Park on Sept. 20 brought the community together to learn CPR, celebrate survivors and fuel cardiovascular research.

“The Heart & Stroke Walk shows what San Diego can do together,” said Patrick Frias, MD, copresident and CEO of Rady Children’s Health, and volunteer chair of the 2025 San Diego Heart & Stroke Walk. “By supporting this year-round movement, we’re not just raising funds, we’re equipping more people with lifesaving skills that help make San Diego a stronger, healthier place. Our vision is for every household to be prepared to respond to a cardiac emergency, and we’re grateful to everyone who helped us take a big step toward that goal.”

Last year’s San Diego Heart & Stroke Walk raised $936,122 for the American Heart Association.
