The 32-bed neonatal intensive care unit NICU at the Acute Care Pavilion has 22 private home-like rooms, helping moms to bond with their newborn-babies. This comfortable and comforting environment is matched with the most advanced technology to ensure the best possible care for newborn babies and their parents.
The rooms for specialized care are equipped with specially designed chairs, which enable all our infants to have skin-to-skin contact with mom and dad.
The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Rady Children’s Hospital also includes:
- Nature-themed photography in the patient rooms
- Two lactation rooms
- Parent waiting area with play space
Surgery can be performed by the NICU staff in any of the neonatal care patient rooms.
