Dr. Crane is an assistant clinical professor of pediatrics and medicine at UCSD. He is an adult and pediatric nephrologist practicing at Rady Children’s Hospital and UCSD. Dr. Crane grew up in Southern California and earned his medical degree from Loma Linda University. He completed residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics (“med/peds”) at the University of Utah and Primary Children’s Hospital prior to a combined fellowship in adult and pediatric nephrology at UCSD and Rady Children’s.
His clinical interests include the care of kidney transplant patients, general pediatric nephrology, and the transition of pediatric patients to adult care. His research focuses on transplant immunology, the interplay between infection and rejection, and studying how biomarkers can enhance the precision of care for transplant and nephrology patients.
