Dr. Hagood is chief of the Division of Respiratory Medicine (Pulmonology) at Rady Children's Hospital-San Diego and a professor at UC San Diego School of Medicine.
He is experienced in caring for the entire spectrum of childhood breathing disorders, but his particular interest and expertise is in rare and diffuse lung diseases.
Dr. Hagood is a member of the Childhood Interstitial Lung Disease (ChILD) Research Network and an advisor to the ChILD Foundation. His laboratory studies show how normal lung air spaces develop, how scar tissue (fibrosis) forms in the lung, and how there can be new ways to treat interstitial and fibrotic lung disease.
Dr. Hagood is committed to discovering better ways to treat children with respiratory problems and to supporting their families. He believes that "everyone deserves to breathe a little easier."
