Ronald J Teufel II, M.D., MSCR

Bio

Dr. Teufel earned his medical degree from West Virginia University School of Medicine and completed residency and fellowship training at the Medical University of South Carolina. He also holds a Master of Science in Clinical Research and completed a fellowship in Health Services Research. He is a Professor of Pediatrics and board-certified in both General Pediatrics and Pediatric Hospital Medicine.

Over his career, Dr. Teufel has served in multiple leadership roles, including medical directorships, section director of Pediatric Hospital Medicine, and principal investigator for federally and industry-sponsored trials. He was also a founding Associate Editor for the journal Hospital Pediatrics. His clinical philosophy emphasizes family engagement, inclusive team environments, and the importance of communication and lifelong learning.
