Rady Children's Specialists

Team

Our team includes three physicians and a registered nurse who specialize in caring for children with Kawasaki disease and MIS-C.

Physicians

Jane C. Burns, M.D., is the director of Rady Children’s KD and MIS-C clinics; director of the Kawasaki Disease Research Center at UC San Diego; and a professor in the Department of Pediatrics at UC San Diego School of Medicine. Dr. Burns is an internationally recognized KD specialist and researcher, and has spent nearly four decades conducting investigations into the condition.

Adriana Tremoulet, M.D., M.A.S., is the associate director of the Kawasaki Disease Research Center at UC San Diego and a professor in the Department of Pediatrics at UC San Diego School of Medicine. She has led multiple research initiatives for KD exploring potential new treatments. Dr. Tremoulet and the team are now studying which treatments are best for children with MIS-C.

Kirsten Dummer, M.D., is a pediatric cardiologist and an associate professor in the Department of Pediatrics at UC San Diego School of Medicine. She is a heart specialist with a special interest in KD and MIS-C. She will be leading a National Institutes of Health-sponsored study investigating potential long-term effects on the hearts of children who have had MIS-C.
