Cara Lee-Stephenson, N.P.
Cara-Lee worked as a nurse practitioner in primary care pediatrics for 7.5 years before joining our team in 2014. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Richmond with a Bachelor of Science in biology. She then attended Massachusetts General Hospital’s Institute of Health Professions, where she received her Master of Science in Nursing, specializing in pediatrics. In 2004, Cara-Lee moved to San Diego with her husband, Will. They have two daughters as well as two dogs and a cat. She enjoys hiking in Mission Trails, baking and learning to play the piano.
Alina Shumakova, M.S.N., CPNP
Alina comes to us from the Washington, D.C. area with six years of experience in pediatric emergency medicine. She earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing science from George Mason University and a Master of Science in Nursing from University of South Alabama. She is a member of American Association of Neurological Surgeons and enjoys every opportunity to enhance her knowledge in pediatric neurosurgery. In her free time, she enjoys sailing with her husband, hiking with her wheaten terrier, Baguette, and baking cookies with her tabby cat, Vasili.
