Meerana Lim, M.D.

Bio

Dr. Meerana Lim is the director of the Rady Children's/UC San Diego Cystic Fibrosis Care Center and a professor of pediatrics at UC San Diego. She is board certified in pediatric pulmonology and sleep medicine.

Dr. Lim came to Rady Children's after completing her pediatric pulmonology fellowship at the Johns Hopkins University. Her clinical focus is optimizing care for infants, children and adolescents with cystic fibrosis. Her research interests include understanding the microbiome and metabolome in patients with cystic fibrosis and other chronic airways diseases.

At Rady Children's, Dr. Lim seeks to make the cystic fibrosis center a place of excellence, one which actively participates in research to better understand the pathophysiology of cystic fibrosis in order to impact treatments and therapeutics that will benefit patients.

Dr. Lim earned her medical degree from Howard University in Washington, D.C., and trained in pediatrics at the Medical College of Virginia. She received her pulmonary and sleep medicine training at the Johns Hopkins University.
