The staff at the Heart Institute at Rady Children’s Hospital-San Diego is celebrating American Heart Month with its 30th Annual Heart Party. About 250 current and former heart patients many of whom have undergone open-heart surgery or suffer from a heart condition, are expected to attend and share their inspiring stories. The event reunites patients and their families with doctors, nurses and clinical staff.
The party, which includes games and entertainment in a carnival-like setting, is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., on Saturday, February 8th at Rady Children’s.
The Heart Institute is ranked among the nation’s best pediatric heart programs in the country by U.S. News & World Report. The Institute is the largest pediatric cardiology program in San Diego, Imperial and Orange counties and the second busiest in California. In 2013, its doctors performed more than 500 heart operations. The cardiology program provides comprehensive cardiac services and state-of-the-art specialized care for infants, children, adolescents and some adult patients.
