Dr. Leidy Tovar Padua received her medical degree in Colombia in 2007. She trained in Pediatrics at St. Joseph Children's Hospital in New Jersey, followed by Pediatric Infectious Diseases fellowship at Mattel Children's Hospital at UCLA. She has great experience in the management of patients with transplant-related ID issues, HIV patients, complex NICU and PICU patients, general ID patients, and perinatal infections. During her fellowship, she developed great interest in congenital infections and transplant infectious diseases.

Dr. Tovar Padua likes to explore places, cultures and food through first-hand experiences; traveling is one of her passions. She has also assisted different medical mission groups in the underserved areas in her home country; those experiences have given purpose to her life. Dr. Tovar Padua has strived for and accomplished her professional goals and continues to challenge herself to be the best infectious diseases physician she can possibly be. Her passion and commitment to help the vulnerable population has continued throughout her career making a positive impact on children and their families.
