Pure culture of anaerobic isolate on a slant or plate.

Collection Instructions

Transport in an anaerobic environment; slant, plate, or swab. Collect swab specimen using an Amies gel transport swab, Amies liquid elution swab (ESWAB), or equivalent. Isolate identification must be supplied with the request. Refrigerated preferred and may help improve isolate viability.

Isolate in Thioglycollate broth; Aerobic slant; Plate or swab; Frozen isolates (unless in glycerol broth-acceptable)
