Multidisciplinary Atopic Dermatitis Program (MADP)

The Multidisciplinary Atopic Dermatitis Program (MADP) clinic is a joint clinic led by Bob Geng, M.D., from our Allergy & Immunology division and Lawrence Eichenfield, M.D.,  from the Division of Dermatology for the treatment of patients with severe atopic dermatitis (eczema).

The clinic is held monthly. You or your child will have a comprehensive evaluation by the entire clinic team, which includes a dermatologist, allergist, clinical pharmacist, physician assistant, quality improvement analyst and patient educator. Patients also complete questionnaires and review our patient education materials. Due to its multidisciplinary nature, the visit will last longer than a typical office visit and take about two hours.

Shared decision-making is used to improve disease management and patient outcomes. Diagnostic and treatment options are discussed within the clinic team and with the patient and family to determine the best plan of care. Your or your child will also be able to use an online eczema symptom tracking system created by the National Eczema Association called eczemawise.org.

If you are interested in becoming a patient and would like to learn more, visit the Eczema Center MADP page.
