U.S. News & World Report Voting Has Begun, Vote Now!


The U.S. News & World Report survey for 2025-2026 Best Children’s Hospitals is now underway! Your participation helps recognize Rady Children’s for the exceptional care we provide and ensures our continued leadership in pediatric health care.
Key Details:
Survey invitations are being sent in phases.

  • Thursday, Feb. 13, a randomly selected 10% of eligible physicians received an email invitation from Doximity.
  • By Feb. 26, the remaining 90% of eligible physicians will receive their invitations.

If you receive an email invitation, log into Doximity and complete the survey as soon as possible to ensure your vote is counted.

If you don’t receive an email by February 26, you may still be eligible. Simply log into Doximity after that date to check if the survey is available to you. You can use the eligibility recheck tool to verify eligibility or request an eligibility recheck. Additionally, if you are eligible but haven’t completed the survey, you will receive reminder notifications within Doximity when logging in. Physicians can also contact support@doximity.com with questions specifically related to their Doximity account. Please review the US News’ Second Opinion blog post for more information.

The survey will remain open through mid-March, with follow-up email reminders sent to those who have not yet participated. Your vote directly impacts our national ranking, patient trust, and the future of pediatric care.

Rady Children’s Appoints Praveen Raju, MD, PhD, as the Nathan Gordon Chair and Medical Director of Neuro-Oncology Program

Rady Children’s recently appointed Praveen Raju, MD, PhD, as Medical Director of the Pediatric Neuro-Oncology Program, while UC San Diego School of Medicine named him Director of the Pediatric Neuro-Oncology Program and Associate Physician Diplomate in Neurosciences. At Rady Children’s, Dr. Raju also holds the Nathan Gordon Chair in Neuro-Oncology, established in 2021 to honor Nathan Gordon, who was diagnosed with a rare spinal cord tumor at 15 months old. Dr. Raju leads efforts to expand the Neuro-Oncology Program and advance research on pediatric brain and spinal tumors as part of Rady Children’s nationally recognized care team.

Rady Children’s Named Among Nation’s Ten Best Children’s Hospitals in U.S. News & World Report’s Annual Survey

For the second year in a row, Rady Children’s Hospital-San Diego has been named by U.S. News & World Report to its Best Children’s Hospitals Honor Roll, a distinction awarded to only 10 children’s hospitals nationwide. Rady Children’s has also been named by U.S. News as tied for the No. 1 pediatric hospital in California and the Pacific Region. Rady Children’s had five specialties rank among the top 10 in the nation (Cardiology & Heart Surgery #3; Orthopedics #5; Neurology & Neurosurgery #8; Diabetes & Endocrinology #9 and Urology #10) and maintained its eight-year streak of achieving rankings in all specialties surveyed. U.S. News added a new category for 2024-2025 – Pediatric & Adolescent Behavioral Health – in which Rady Children’s was ranked among the top 50 programs in the country.

Unraveling the Genetic Basis of Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia

Led by Dr. David McCulley, researchers identified loss-of-function mutations in the Sin3a gene as a key factor in CDH development. Whole-genome sequencing of patients with CDH revealed small deletions in Sin3a, disrupting diaphragm and lung development.
