The Spine Screening Clinic evaluates children who are 10 years and older with a history of back pain, spinal asymmetry, early suspicion of scoliosis, kyphosis and other spine issues.
Under the direction of our spine (scoliosis) surgeons, pediatric nurse practitioners and physician assistants provide the assessment. An X-ray exam of the spine may be performed at the visit using our low-dose radiation EOS system. Many families may discover that their child has a physiologic (normal) curve that requires no further treatment, or they may be referred to physical therapy for their pain, have additional studies ordered for further evaluation and be referred to one of our spine surgeons.
