Ken Taylor, M.D.

Dr. Ken Taylor is a primary care physician with fellowship training and certification in sports medicine. He is also director of the UC San Diego Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship and is involved in clinical research trials related to sports medicine.

He believes that the key to making a difference in his patients’ lives is “understanding that a person’s needs goes beyond just providing medical care.”

Among his professional activities, Dr. Taylor is co-team physician for the San Diego professional indoor soccer franchise, the Sockers, head team physician for the UC San Diego Intercollegiate and Club Athletics, and medical director for the International Surfing Association.

Athletics have been part of Ken’s life since he was a boy. He was a multisport athlete in high school, played college soccer at UC San Diego and surfed in the UC San Diego Cancer Center Luau Surfing Invitational. When not practicing medicine, he enjoys many activities — including soccer, surfing, tennis, triathlons, cycling, running, strength training and hiking/backpacking — and spending time with his two young sports buddies, sons Griffin and Gavin.
