“Controlling the Fires that Light Tics Up: Managing Back-to-School Stress”

It’s a well-known reality to any children and families affected by tics that change can be a stressor that will increase the frequency and intensity of tics, particularly if there isn’t a strategy for anticipating and managing the stressful aspects of change.  This session will talk about anticipatory guidance for managing change, particularly return to school or new school activities, as well as specific relaxation training exercises.
